Summer Studies

I took two oil painting classes this summer at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. Landscape with Mike Viera and figure painting with Hollis Dunlap. Both were great teachers and definitely helped improve my oil painting skills. Here is some of the work I did. All of these are 12"x16" and I spent about 3 hours on each.

Mech

The final image of the mech I created in Zbrush and painted in photoshop last semester.

Robot Mech Model WIP

Trying my hand at hard-surface modeling in Zbrush. It is still in progress though. The end result will be rendered out into an illustration. Thanks to Nick Zuccarello who visited a few weeks ago and demoed some of his techniques. I learned a lot from him and made the process a bit easier.

Zbrush Head

My first sculpt in Zbrush. It's a caveman/mountain man who is upset over his goat being stolen. I had more fun than I expected doing this.

Giant Train

Updating kind of late, I did this one the beginning of January.

Illustration Open Assignments

Open assignments from Illustration class.
The Robot Slayer. Digital

Questionable Meat Market. Oil

Vis Dev Mega Post

Here's the final pieces with some process work I did in Visual Development class over the semester in chronological order.

Character

I'll be honest, it was the first project and I didn't know what I was doing, so my process was a little weak. I think it turned out okay though.

Vehicle

My assault hover craft that goes around and kills shit in the desert.

Creature
We used a random animal to base our made up creature off of. I got a chimpanzee and tried to blend it with a flying squirrel and a gecko.

Props

A prop for an alternative water supply on a farm.

Environment

Drug lord's lair based off a site map created by another student.

Marketing Piece

The final piece had to combine all the assets we created over the semester into an illustration.
